Queenstown
new build
Project Gallery
This site is tucked away in the beautiful Hanley’s Farm development next to the Remarkables east of Queenstown. The development had design constraints that need to be carefully considered, with the final design needing approval from the design panel.
The home consists of 2 staggered bulk forms with pitched gable roofs that are connected by a centralized channel. This leads you from the entry through the space to the rear landscape beyond. The metal roof cladding wraps down the sides of the building anchoring it to the ground. The front and rear gables have light natural vertical shiplap cedar cladding. The natural colour palette and pitched roofs is sympathetic to the cliffs in the distance.
The right wing consists of a master suite, 2 additional double bedrooms, a bathroom and a second living area. The left wing consists of a double garage, laundry, powder room and guest bedroom. Towards the rear of the left wing, the ceiling opens up into a vaulted design over the spacious kitchen, dining, living area. The staggered form pulls the living area forward of the master bedroom, maximising light.
