Our company story
Award Winning Architecture Agency
Buildology is an architectural design company small enough to have personal connections with our individual clients, large enough to manage the demands of the fast paced industry, clever enough to come up with inspiring contemporary design solutions, and devoted enough to see them successfully implemented.
Adopting inspiration from many different styles we appreciate the timeless, modest characteristics of a historic Villa as much as the defined minimalism of a modern holiday home. We are committed to working alongside our clients and believe our design solution should deliver spaces that are visually stimulating while creating places and spaces you personally require.

Romé Smit
Principal/Director
Romé is a Principal at Buildology and a senior designer who has been with the firm for more than 10 years. She has worked on a wide range of projects varying in style and scale, from renovation projects to new builds.
She is constantly increasing her knowledge of the technical aspects of the building industry and is enthusiastic about her job. “I truly enjoy every aspect of what I do within design and architecture and I hope to channel this enthusiasm into achieving the best possible results. In an industry that is always evolving you need to embrace change.”
“Being able to envision something and then articulating it through forms of art which you can bring to life in a physical entity is truly satisfying”
Coming from an upbringing passionate about design and build, Rome was exposed to building projects from a young age. She was always ‘creating’ and this passion lead her to the architecture industry.

Allan McIntosh
Founder/Director
Allan has been within the building industry for the past 31 years, starting out with his building apprenticeship in 1988. Over the years Allan has been involved with award winning residential projects as well as major commercial projects.
In 2000, Allan began doing his own developments, therefore has a vast knowledge in being able to take a project from the initial design stage, right through to the completed build.
Allan became a Licensed Building Practitioner when the scheme was first brought in in 2008.
During Allan’s extensive building experience, he discovered a passion for designing and began moving away from the tools and more into the design sector of the construction process. This passion for design lead him to create Buildology.
Allan enjoys the problem solving that comes with the design process and is excellent at incorporating practical solutions into a great design.
“I do what I do to experience the excitement that each customer has when we get a design spot on. I love the moment when we present our designs and see how excited our clients get, that’s when we know we are doing something right “
