With leaks in need of fixing, the owners of this four-bedroom home grabbed the chance to also give it a new look. The tired, monolithic panels on the front were replaced with an eye-catching blend of classic light timber weatherboards and darker vertical aluminium cladding. Cool tones throughout the property enhance its new contemporary aesthetic. The modern kitchen features a huge island bench and breakfast bar – easily big enough to seat seven. And when it’s too cold outside to host friends for a barbecue, the big seven-burner oven caters for dinner-party creativity. The living area adjoining the kitchen is ideal for guests to relax and chat with the chef while dinner is prepared. The second living area is a cosy space featuring a gas fireplace, and can be closed off from the social hub with pivot doors plus a solid, elegant barn-style door. Impressive views of the Hauraki Gulf can be enjoyed from the hardwood decks leading from the family living area. The main bedroom suite provides a relaxing retreat with a large vista window, generous ensuite and wardrobe, and a small deck for relaxing in the sun.
